Improving the height of residential buildings is an important manifestation of promoting the construction of "good houses" through "setting standards". With the preparation and promotion of the "Guidelines for Good House Construction" and the revision and upgrading of the "Residential Project Code", my country's residential construction standards are undergoing major changes. Among them, the height standard of residential floors is raised to no less than 3 meters, which has pressed the start button of the "space revolution" to improve the quality of residential buildings.

The 2011 edition of the "Residential Design Code" clearly states that "the height of the residential floor should be 2.80 meters" and "the indoor net height of the bedroom and living room (living room) should not be less than 2.40 meters." However, after more than ten years of development, these two standards can no longer meet the people's new expectations for improving living conditions.

On the one hand, with the improvement of living standards and nutritional conditions, the average height of Chinese people has increased, and the requirements for floor height are correspondingly increased; on the other hand, the improvement of residential performance indicators such as lighting and ventilation also depends to a large extent on the increase of floor height.

After the revision of national standards and specifications such as "Guidelines for the Construction of Good Houses" and "Residential Projects Code", they will be used as mandatory national standards to guide local governments to revise relevant standards, and comprehensively improve standards such as house design, materials, construction, equipment, barrier-free, age-friendly, and intelligence.
