At present, the policy has been implemented for three months. Since the implementation of the policy, the number of incoming passengers at the Baiyun Airport Port in Guangdong has increased significantly.
The reporter learned from the Baiyun Border Inspection Station that since the implementation of the new policy, as of March 17, more than 4,700 passengers at the Baiyun Airport Port have enjoyed policy convenience, an increase of 75% month-on-month compared with the 72/144-hour transit visa-free entry before the policy optimization. At present, the top three countries of the source of visa-free transit applications at ports are Russia, the United States and the United Kingdom.
The optimization of the visa-free policy has also driven the development of related industries such as tourism, catering, and accommodation. In January this year alone, Guangzhou received 378,800 overnight tourists, achieving tourism foreign exchange income of US$273 million, with a significant economic radiation effect.
