The notice pointed out that recently, the DeepSeek artificial intelligence model developed by Hangzhou Shenqiusuo Artificial Intelligence Basic Technology Research Co., Ltd. has attracted widespread attention worldwide. Some enterprises and natural persons submitted trademark registration applications to the Trademark Office of the State Intellectual Property Office under the name "DeepSeek" or its logo graphics that is generally known to the public. Some agencies are suspected of providing illegal services and have the obvious intention of "taking advantage of hot spots" and seeking improper benefits.
The State Intellectual Property Administration resolutely cracks down on such malicious applications and rejects 63 trademark registration applications including "DEEPSEEK" in accordance with the law.
The State Intellectual Property Office will continue to maintain a high-pressure situation in combating malicious trademark registration behaviors, and seriously deal with acts that violate the principle of honesty and trustworthiness, maliciously apply for trademark registration, and intend to obtain improper benefits in accordance with the law, resolutely maintain the order of trademark registration, and continue to create a good business environment, and provide strong support for achieving scientific and technological self-reliance and self-improvement and promoting high-quality development.
