CCTV News: According to the Ministry of Transport's Rescue and Salvage Bureau, on February 22, the 2025 Spring Festival travel rush was officially over. The Ministry of Transport's Rescue and Salvage Bureau organized all units of the salvage system to strictly implement the work requirements of "closely keeping a close eye on the two major risks of weather changes and large passenger flow" and "strengthening the risk control of water passenger transport" and the Ministry of Transport's "Thirty Articles" hard measures, etc., and make every effort to do a good job in emergency duty, handling of dangerous situations and safe production work, effectively ensuring the safety of life, property and transportation of the people at sea.
The rescue system focuses on the operation of key water areas in the "six zones", "four key ships" and passenger (roller) ferry routes, and has been deployed along the coast of my country, 48 professional rescue boats, 17 rescue aircraft, 19 emergency rescue teams, 3 emergency salvage engineering ships, and 65 salvage-linked ships to carry out motor cruises and standby, achieving three-dimensional and multiple coverage of sea and air. During the 2025 Spring Festival travel rush, a total of 93 emergency rescue and rescue tasks were carried out, 144 people in distress were successfully rescued, 8 ships in distress were rescued, and the rescued property was valued at about 863 million yuan.
According to the characteristics of passenger flow in the Spring Festival travel rush, the rescue system carried out special emergency support drills for the Spring Festival travel rush in the waters of Liaolu, the Yangtze River Estuary, Zhoushan, and Xiamen, as well as the Yanda route, the "small three-way" passenger ferry route in the Taiwan Strait, the Qiongzhou Strait route, and other risky waters and passenger routes, further improving the Spring Festival travel guarantee capabilities of the rescue system. At the same time, various units in the rescue system organized targeted professional skills training such as life-saving, large-scale life-saving, and night flight of aircraft, and actively promoted collaborative training among various rescue units, "three-in-one" joint collaborative training, and regional joint training to ensure that the rescue force plays a key role at critical moments.
At present, cold air activities continue, and my country's coastal areas are frequently hit by strong winds and thick fog, and maritime emergency support tasks are facing severe challenges. All units of the rescue system will further strengthen the emergency duty and standby deployment, do a good job in preventing and responding to extreme weather such as cold waves and strong winds, unswervingly perform their rescue duties, and do their best to ensure the safety of life, environment and property at sea.
