CCTV News: According to the Ministry of Transport, the 40-day Spring Festival travel rush (from January 14 to February 22, 2025), the cross-regional flow of people in the whole society was 9.02 billion, an increase of 7.1% over the same period in 2024. Among them, the number of railway passengers was 510 million, an increase of 6.1% year-on-year; the number of highway personnel flow was 8.39 billion, an increase of 7.2% year-on-year (of which, the number of self-driving travel was 7.17 billion, accounting for 79.4% of the cross-regional personnel in the whole society and 1.22 billion highway commercial passengers); the number of water passengers was 31.21 million, an increase of 7.6% year-on-year; the number of civil aviation passengers was 90.2 million, an increase of 7.4% year-on-year.
On February 22, 2025 (the 40th day of the Spring Festival travel rush, the 25th day of the first lunar month, Saturday), the cross-regional flow of people in the whole society was 185.303 million, a month-on-month decrease of 1.9%, an increase of 15.4% over the same period in 2024 (Tuesday).
>>The railway passenger volume was 13.882 million (Saturday, students returned to school), an increase of 17.1% month-on-month and 79.2% over the same period in 2024.
>>The flow of highway personnel (including the travel volume of non-commercial passenger buses on highways and ordinary national and provincial highways and commercial passenger traffic) was 168.6 million, a decrease of 3.2% month-on-month and an increase of 11.9% over the same period in 2024. Among them, the number of business passengers on highways was 33.66 million, an increase of 1.1% month-on-month, an increase of 5.8% over the same period in 2024; the number of non-commercial passenger buses on expressways and ordinary national and provincial highways was 134.94 million, a decrease of 4.2% month-on-month, an increase of 13.5% over the same period in 2024.
