CCTV News: Sichuan Liangshan Yi Autonomous Prefecture was once the hardest "hard bone" to crack in poverty alleviation. In November 2020, all 11 local poor counties were lifted out of poverty. Over the past four years, this place has focused on development and promoted revitalization by developing rural characteristic industries, building modern agricultural parks, and carrying out dynamic zeroing action of "zero employment families", with steady growth in people's income and qualitative improvement in human settlement conditions, and a new picture of beautiful rural revitalization is slowly unfolding.
Walking into the Jiagu Village, Puxiong Town, Yuexi County, Liangshan Prefecture, the roads are flat and open, with vermilion tiles and earthy yellow walls, and the houses with unique Yi characteristics are arranged in an orderly manner. In the Yi embroidery intangible cultural heritage workshop in the village, Yi women were sitting around and stabbing Yi embroidery. At the beginning of the Year of the Snake, they received nearly 100 orders from inside and outside the state.

The ethnic cultural atmosphere of Xiagu Village is strong. Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the village has based itself on reality to press the "fast forward button" of industrial development, deeply explore and inherit the Yi embroidery ethnic cultural industry, mobilizes the whole village to learn Yi embroidery skills collectively, focus on training for poor households, systematic production, fixed-point sales, and scale. Through "skills at fingertips", in 2020, all 101 poor people in the village were lifted out of poverty. Today, there are 367 embroidery girls in the village, and their annual income can be increased by more than 5 million yuan.

The products are selling well, the village is becoming famous, and more and more tourists are coming to travel. In recent years, Xiagu Village has been collectively driven by the village and has vigorously developed rural tourism industries such as characteristic homestays, farmhouses, intangible cultural heritage research, and cafes, through Yi embroidery skills. In 2024, it attracted more than 100,000 tourists and the village collective income exceeded 210,000 yuan. The once deeply impoverished village has now evolved into a "village-scenic integrated" intangible cultural heritage tourist attraction with rural tourism, Yi embroidery commodity production, and intangible cultural heritage innovation as its main industries.

A Luo Wuliangmu, secretary of the Party Branch of Jiagu Village, Yuexi County, Liangshan Prefecture, said: "Now the village is vigorously developing Yi embroidery and rural tourism industries. Tourists come to us almost every day, which has driven the income of villagers and village collectives to grow year by year. This year, we will comprehensively improve the village's tourism reception capacity, promote the integrated development of agriculture, culture and tourism, and strive to make the people in the village's money more and more prosperous and their lives are getting better and better."

The development of Xiagu Village is a microcosm of the rural revitalization of Yuexi County. In recent years, Yuexi County has always insisted on consolidating and expanding the results of poverty alleviation and putting the most important and prominent position on the rural revitalization strategy, focusing on the development strategy of "building parks in industries, building new urban areas, and building scenic spots in the whole region", making the scale of modern agricultural industries bigger and stronger, improving the support level of modern agriculture, fully tapping the resource advantages of nature, history, culture, and ecology, developing full-time, all-season and all-region tourism, accelerating the construction of the three-level labor service system at the county, township and villages, and working together to paint a new picture of rural revitalization.
