CCTV News: From February 18 to 21, a regular meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States was held at the SCO Secretariat in Beijing. Since July last year, the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has entered "China time". At present, China is stepping up all work of the SCO Chairman.
This regular meeting of the Council of National Coordinators of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Member States is chaired by China. Representatives from the Executive Committee of the 10 SCO member states, the Secretariat and the Regional Anti-terrorism Organization attended the meeting. At the meeting, all parties discussed more than 20 issues on cooperation in the SCO's fields of politics, diplomacy, economy, trade, humanities, etc., and exchanged views on issues such as the preparation of the summit.
During his stay in Beijing, the deputies also visited the History Exhibition Hall of the Communist Party of China.
The National Coordinator Council is an important consultation mechanism within the framework of the SCO, and undertakes the task of promoting the implementation of important consensus among leaders and coordinating cooperation in various fields. The foreign parties at the meeting expressed that they would actively support the work of the Chinese presidency, jointly implement the important consensus of the leaders, make every effort to prepare for the summit, and promote new progress in cooperation in various fields of the organization.
Since the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Astana Summit in July last year, China has officially taken over as the SCO's rotating presidency from 2024 to 2025. China will host the SCO summit and more than 100 meetings and events within the SCO framework. How China works with all parties to lead the SCO into a new stage of high-quality development has attracted much attention and expectations.
Ding Xiaoxing, deputy secretary-general of the Academic Committee of the China Academy of Contemporary International Relations, said that the current international situation is in a mixed situation, and the Shanghai Cooperation Organization has also been in a period of growth and transformation after more than 20 years of development. How to promote the sustainable development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization itself? This includes functional positioning, future organization expansion, and how to improve functional organization reforms. At the summit, China will definitely put forward more initiatives and suggestions to promote the future healthy and sustainable development of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and take tangible actions to promote regional development and promote cooperation among member states.
