Shijingshan District of Beijing is a pilot area for my country's long-term care insurance system. After the Spring Festival holiday, Commissioner He Dan went to the Medical Insurance Bureau, Care Institutions and Disabled Elderly families here to investigate the care issues of disabled elderly people. The 71-year-old Ren Sizhu has been disable due to cerebral infarction and has been taken care of by his wife and will enjoy long-term care insurance from 2021.

This year, He Dan is preparing to make suggestions on accelerating the interoperability and use of long-term care insurance in other places and strengthening care skills training. In the past year, He Dan has visited Sichuan, Inner Mongolia, Guizhou and other places for investigation, and communicated with the National Health Commission, the Ministry of Civil Affairs and other departments many times. In the research reports and proposals, he repeatedly suggested accelerating the design of top-level systems and expanding the scope of long-term insurance implementation, which has received attention from relevant departments.
Medical services are also rigid needs of the elderly. Last year, the country introduced a series of policies to strengthen the integration of medical care and nursing. At this year's Two Sessions, He Dan planned to make suggestions on how to break through departmental barriers at the community level and integrate medical resources.

Aging has challenges and opportunities. In the past year, a series of policies and measures such as the "Opinions on Developing the Silver Economy to Promote the Welfare of the Elderly" have been introduced to promote the development of the Silver Economy. On the eve of the Two Sessions, He Dan rushed to Shanghai to conduct on-site research on tourism companies and community universities, and planned to make suggestions on further improving supporting policies that are compatible with delayed retirement and developing the silver hair industry.
