A relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Water Resources introduced that the 2025 water replenishment plan will last until the end of June, with the northern section of the Yellow River of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal as the main connecting route, starting from Dongbianmen, Beijing City in the north, passing through Tonghui River and Bei Canal to Sancha River in Tianjin, and starting from the exit gate of Liaocheng Passing Yellow Project in Shandong Province in the south, passing through Xiaohua, Wei Canal, and Nan Canal to Sancha River in Tianjin, involving four provinces and cities, including Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong, and flowing through 8 prefecture-level administrative regions and 31 county-level administrative regions.
During the water replenishment period, by optimizing the allocation and dispatching of water supply for the emergency water supply project of the north extension of the East Line of the South-to-North Water Diversion East, local water, yellow water diversion, Luan water diversion, recycled water and rainwater in the four provinces and cities of Beijing, Tianjin, Hebei and Shandong, it is estimated that the water replenishment volume will be provided 556 million cubic meters, of which 529 million cubic meters of water enter the Grand Canal, the total length of the water replenishment line is 1,274 kilometers, and the irrigation area of 460,000 mu of deep groundwater is replaced.
According to reports, in order to continue to promote the recovery of rivers and lake ecological environment and comprehensive management of groundwater overexploitation in North China, the Ministry of Water Resources recently issued and implemented the "Water Replenishment Plan for the 2025 Full Line of the Beijing-Hangzhou Grand Canal". On February 10, the Liuwuhe control gate of the Shandong section of the first phase of the South-to-North Water Diversion East Line Project was opened, and the emergency north extension project of the East Line of the South-to-North Water Diversion East Line was replenished to the small canal; on February 20, the water sources of the Miyun Reservoir and Huairou Reservoir were replenished through the Beijing-Mi water diversion canal through the Wenyu River to the north canal.
