On February 22, a number of major people's livelihood projects in Pudong New District started in 2025, with a total investment of approximately 64.8 billion yuan, covering seven key areas: municipal transportation, ecological environment, housing security, urban renewal, education and childcare, medical care, and elderly care services. The projects started this time involve 10 urban renewal arrangements, of which 8 have been launched as a total of 8.

At the same time, there are 7 housing security projects arranged, and 83,400 square meters of affordable rental housing will be listed and put into use, further enriching the multi-level housing security system of "one bed, one room, and one house".

Xiangyang, Hubei: Rare plants breed new seedlings and "Come on" for the return of the wild

The Wudaoxia National Nature Reserve located in Xiangyang, Hubei is an important species gene bank in the central and western regions of my country. At the beginning of the New Year, the local government seized the season and fully launched the 2025 rare plant breeding work.

Li Xingkui, Director of the Administration of Wudaoxia National Nature Reserve in Hubei: It is planned to breed 50,000 purple-spotted peonies, 30,000 yew, 5,000 big fruit greens, and other rare plants such as Xiao Goua Tea. A total of 100,000 plants are achieved, laying a solid foundation for returning to the wild in the future.

It is understood that for some species that cannot self-breed under natural conditions, scientific and technological personnel will provide manual assistance to collect seeds, collect stem segments, and help them reproduce in smart greenhouses through seed breeding, cutting breeding, etc. This year, the Wudaoxia National Nature Reserve plans to build a 40-acre rare seedling germplasm collection area, expand the germplasm resource library to 2,000 square meters, and strive to increase the number of rare population by 30%.
