The world's fastest high-speed rail is undergoing multiple tests and verifications
2025-05-03 source:CCTV.com

CCTV News (News Network): The world's fastest high-speed train CR450 EMU has completed the prototype design and successfully launched. At present, the R&D team is carrying out a series of scientific experiments and performance verifications to create conditions for the EMU to enter commercial operations as soon as possible.

At the National Railway Test Center, engineers are performing weighing tests for the CR450 EMU sample car. The operating speed of the CR450 EMU can reach 400 kilometers per hour, but in order to reduce the impact on the track, trains must lose more than 10% of the weight when running on existing lines.

The key project of the National "14th Five-Year Plan" Science and Technology Innovation Project-CR450 EMU is another technological breakthrough based on the operation of CR400 EMU. The R&D team conducted hundreds of extreme working conditions simulation tests around the permanent magnet traction motor used in the EMU for the first time. In order to reduce the air resistance during high-speed operation of the train, scientific researchers overcame problems such as resonance and heat dissipation and cover the entire bogie area under the vehicle for the first time.

At present, various professional test teams such as CR450 EMU sample vehicle traction, braking, and noise have completed static and low-speed dynamic debugging tests, and will conduct step by step speed dynamic operation tests.

In 2025, the China Railway Corporation will use the joint commissioning of new lines such as the Shanghai-Chongqing-Chengdu High-speed Railway to accelerate the completion of the CR450 EMU type test, and carry out multi-speed level and multi-scene scientific research experiments and application assessments.
