On February 17, General Secretary Xi Jinping attended a symposium on private enterprises and delivered an important speech. This is six years later, the Party Central Committee has once again held a symposium on private enterprises. From the General Secretary’s pointing out “three has not changed” at the symposium in 2018, to the reaffirming of “two unshakable” at this symposium, the Party Central Committee’s clear statement of encouraging, supporting and guiding the development of the non-public economy has been consistent.
At the two symposiums, the General Secretary encouraged private entrepreneurs to maintain their determination and strengthen their confidence in the face of risks, difficulties and challenges. This determination and confidence come from the leap in my country's social productivity and the general improvement of people's living standards, from our large-scale human resources, a complete industrial system and infrastructure, super-large-scale market potential, and from our institutional advantages. The General Secretary emphasized that "everything that the Party Central Committee has decided must be implemented resolutely and cannot be discounted." He hopes that the majority of private entrepreneurs will maintain the spirit of fighting and winning, concentrate on becoming stronger, better and bigger enterprises, and firmly be builders of socialism with Chinese characteristics and promoters of Chinese modernization.
