The reporter learned from Guangdong Transportation Group on February 21 that the Huangmaohai cross-sea channel will start the paid operation mode from 0:00 on February 28.

The bridge will charge 33 yuan/standard trains
The Huangmaohai Cross-Sea Channel is an important channel in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area, an important part of the west expansion channel of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and an important transportation route connecting the western Guangdong region. The total length of the route is about 31.1 kilometers, and the entire line is built using the "bridge + road" method. Among them, the Gaolan Port Hub to Chixi East Interchange is an independent bridge section, about 17.8 kilometers.
On December 11, 2024, the Huangmaohai Cross-Sea Channel was opened to trial operation, and free passage was temporarily implemented. After the toll charging standards for vehicles across the Huangmaohai cross-sea channel have been heard and reported to the provincial government for approval, the independent bridge section of Gaolan Port Hub to Chixi East Interconnection will be subject to a per-time charge, with a single charge of 33 yuan/standard trains. The section of Chixi East Interchange to Zhonghe Hub Interchange, a highway section with about 13.3 kilometers is charged by mileage, and the rate is 0.6 yuan/standard vehicle kilometer.
The vehicle toll model classification standards are implemented in accordance with the transportation industry standard JT/T489-2019. The charging coefficients of passenger cars from Class 1 to 4 are 1, 1.5, 2 and 3 respectively, and the charging coefficients of trucks from Class 1 to 6 are 1, 2.1, 3.16, 3.75, 3.86 and 4.09 respectively. The charging standards for special operation vehicles are implemented in accordance with the truck. It should be noted that for trucks above six axles, the charging coefficient increases by 0.17 for each additional axle.
The daily traffic flow exceeded 30,000 during the peak Spring Festival travel rush
The Huangmaohai cross-sea channel connects Zhuhai and Jiangmen, greatly shortening the original driving distance to 30 minutes, connecting the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, and successfully building the "Hong Kong-Macao-Zhuhai-Jiangmen-Western Guangdong" golden corridor.
