On January 7, the main media center of the Asian Winter Games was put into trial operation and held a press conference to give a comprehensive introduction to the preparations for the event.
According to the press conference, since there are many teams participating in the ice hockey and curling competitions and the schedule is longer, they will start the first game on February 3 and 4 respectively. Therefore, the Asian Winter Games competition time is 12 days in total. Since September 2024, the Executive Committee of the Asian Winter Games has planned 14 sports events as the Asian Winter Games test competitions to achieve full coverage of all competition venues and events. The cross-country skiing test competition completed the women's and men's personal short distances, relays and other competition events in Yabuli Ski Resort, and conducted a comprehensive running-in and drill on the main competition systems such as the timing and scoring team, competition team, medical team, meteorological team, and Yabuli Ski Resort. At the same time, the rehearsal work of the opening and closing ceremonies was also carried out in an orderly manner, entering the stage of synthesis of the queue.
As of now, the organizing committee has received registration information from 1,275 athletes from 34 countries and regions in Asia. This Asian Winter is expected to become the largest number of participating countries and athletes.
