At 9:5 on January 7, a magnitude 6.8 earthquake occurred in Dingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet. The State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine immediately made arrangements to quickly understand the disaster situation and casualties. At present, professional experts such as Beijing Traditional Chinese Medicine Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University, Sichuan Orthopedic Hospital's emergency and orthopedic injuries have been urgently dispatched to the earthquake-stricken area, and asked the National (Sichuan) Traditional Chinese Medicine Emergency Medical Rescue Team to make rescue preparations and provide support at any time as needed.
After the earthquake, the Tibetan Medicine Administration of Tibet Autonomous Region responded immediately and carried out post-disaster treatment work in accordance with the unified arrangements of the Autonomous Region Health Commission. Six medical staff from Shigatse Tibetan Hospital have arrived in Dingri County to carry out medical treatment work. The National (Tibet) Traditional Chinese Medicine Emergency Medical Rescue Team (Tibet Hospital of Tibet Autonomous Region) has sent 16 team members to the disaster area. Relevant Tibetan medical hospitals in the disaster area have opened a green channel for treatment of wounded people and reserved beds for treatment.
The State Administration of Traditional Chinese Medicine will conscientiously implement General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important instructions on the 6.8-magnitude earthquake in Dingri County, Shigatse City, Tibet and Premier Li Qiang’s requirements, adhere to the people and life first, and under the unified deployment of the National Health Commission, it will fully support the Tibet Autonomous Region in carrying out emergency treatment of traditional Chinese medicine.
