CCTV News: Building high-standard farmland is a key measure to consolidate and improve grain production capacity and ensure national food security. At the beginning of the new year, all localities seize the gaps in slack farming, overcome the impact of low temperatures, accelerate the construction and transformation of a number of high-standard farmland projects, and strive to put them into use before spring farming production.

In the cold winter month, the high-standard farmland construction site is in full swing.

In the west village of Yongfeng Lake in Jiangxi, excavators are shuttled back and forth in the fields. The construction area of this high-standard farmland project is 2,302 mu. The construction unit seized the sunny weather and organized more than 10 large-scale machinery to enter the site to level the land in the project area.

In Linying, Henan, the local area regards ditches remediation as a key breakthrough in the construction of high-standard farmland. By deepening and broadening operations, the drainage volume of the ditches will reach more than three times the original level, achieving small communication, large ditches and large communication rivers, and completely solving the problems of shortage, broken, shallow, and blockage of low-lying farmland ditches.

In the interview, the reporter found that introducing modern and intelligent equipment into high-standard farmland construction has become a new exploration in many major grain-producing areas in the new year.

The 20,000 mu of high-standard farmland construction project in Yongnian District, Handan, Hebei Province is digging a trenches to bury telescopic sprinkler irrigation pipelines. Through the Beidou satellite positioning, the trench machine straightly opened 1.3-meter-deep grooves, and then the workers laid the pipes in.

The construction staff introduced that the spray head buried underground is 40 cm away from the ground and does not affect mechanized farming. When sprinkler irrigation is required, the digital terminal can be issued to control the nozzle to extend out of the ground. The irrigation method will change from the previous "one-shot" to an appropriate amount of time to meet the growth needs of crops at different stages.

Hunan Yuanjiang has increased the investment standard for high-standard farmland construction to no less than 4,000 yuan per mu. It not only needs to complete the transformation and improvement of farmland quality, but also will be equipped with new production equipment such as solar insecticidal lamps and digital management systems. After completion, the production capacity per mu will be increased by more than 10 kilograms.

At present, more than 1 billion acres of high-standard farmland have been built nationwide. In 2025, the country will strengthen the protection and quality improvement of arable land, ensure that high-standard farmland is built into pieces, and truly build it into modern fertile fields suitable for farming, ensuring harvests in drought and flood, and high yields and stable yields.
