The China Federation of Logistics and Procurement announced the China Highway Logistics Freight Index for January today (8th). Affected by seasonal factors during the Spring Festival holiday, market supply and demand slowed down simultaneously, and the freight index showed a seasonal decline.
In January, China's highway logistics freight index was 105.7 points, down 0.23% from the previous month and 1.71% from the same period last year. Judging from the model index, the index of each model declined slightly month-on-month, increasing compared with the same period last year. Among them, the vehicle index, mainly commodities and regional transportation, was 106.1 points, down 0.21% from the previous month and 1.99% from the same period last year.
Analysts believe that the Spring Festival holiday is early, coupled with insufficient market demand, drivers' willingness to work weakened, and the supply of transportation capacity has decreased accordingly. Overall, market supply and demand slowed down simultaneously, and the freight index showed a seasonal decline.
By region, the freight indexes in North China, Pearl River Delta and Northwest have rebounded, while the freight indexes in Northeast China, Central China, Southwest China, Yangtze River Delta and other regions have fallen.
From the later trend, my country's economic operation has a good foundation, a package of incremental policies continue to be implemented to show results, and the momentum for market entities to recover is relatively stable. As local governments continue to resume work and production, it is expected that the road freight market will recover, and the freight index is expected to fluctuate slightly and rebound.
