The Ministry of Finance issued an announcement on financial and accounting supervision and inspection today (8th). According to the announcement, in 2023, the Ministry of Finance conducted a professional quality inspection on 41 accounting firms that have registered for securities service business. Based on the inspection results, the Ministry of Finance imposed administrative penalties on relevant persons in charge, certified public accountants, etc. in accordance with the law.
From the perspective of the punishment, the Ministry of Finance imposed administrative penalties on 20 enterprises, 25 relevant corporate leaders, 8 accounting firms and 84 certified public accountants. Among them: 20 enterprises were fined a total of 970,000 yuan, and 25 relevant persons in charge of enterprises were fined a total of 540,000 yuan.
One accounting firm was revoked, one accounting firm was suspended for business operations for 12 months;
4 accounting firms were confiscated illegal gains and fined a total of 13.36 million yuan, and another four accounting firms were warned;
2 certified public accountants were revoked for business certification, 20 certified public accountants were suspended for business operations for 3 to 12 months, and 62 certified public accountants were warned.
In addition, 86 enterprises are subject to administrative treatment.
