According to the monitoring of the Ministry of Commerce's business big data, during the festival, the sales of key retail and catering companies nationwide increased by 4.1% compared with the same period last year, and the consumer market generally achieved a stable start.

Local business departments combine local characteristics to hold various consumption promotion activities such as New Year's markets, online New Year's goods festivals, time-honored carnivals, etc. to create a strong festive atmosphere and stimulate the vitality of festival consumption.
During the festival, food, New Year goods, green smart home appliances, mobile phones, tablets and other products were sold hotly, and the sales of home appliances and communication equipment in focus were monitored by retail enterprises increased by more than 10% year-on-year.
At the same time, the demand for consumption in services such as dining, travel, movies, and TV shows has been released in a concentrated manner. The turnover of key monitored catering companies increased by 6.2% year-on-year, and the popularity of ice and snow tours, cultural and museum tours has not diminished. During the Spring Festival holiday, the total domestic travel expenses were 677 billion yuan, an increase of 7.0% year-on-year. There were 500 million domestic travelers, an increase of 5.9% year-on-year.

Ho Yongqian, spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce, said that in the later period, my country's consumer market has strong resilience, great potential and sufficient vitality, and the basic trend of recovery and improvement has not changed. With the increasing expansion of the policy of exchanging the old-for-new consumer goods policy, various types of consumer activities have been promoted in an orderly manner, the overall consumer market will continue to show a stable growth trend in the first quarter.
