Today, the 2025 Beijing rail transit construction plan was officially released. This year, Beijing plans to open two new rail transit sections and two new construction sections.

The reporter learned from the Beijing Major Project Construction Command that this year, Beijing has 10 urban rail transit lines under construction, totaling 177.4 kilometers. It is planned to open the southern extension of Metro Line 17, Workers' Stadium to Shilihe section and Line 6. At the same time, the construction of the northern section of Line 19 Phase II and R4 Phase I have been started.

The new line section of about 7.2 kilometers in the middle section of Metro Line 17 will be opened, and Line 17 will be connected to the north-south direction of the city, connecting residential areas such as Tiantongyuan, Wangjing West, Sun Palace, and Panjiayuan. The total length is about 49.7 kilometers. At that time, it will only take 66 minutes from Jiahui Lake to the North Station of Future Science City.

The south extension of Line 6 is the extension of Line 6 of the east-west backbone line of the central city. It is about 2.1 kilometers long. It starts from the existing Lucheng Station in the north and goes east along Canal East Street to Dongxiaying South Station. After completion, the transportation supporting functions of the urban sub-center area will be further improved.

The second phase of Line 19 will be opened this year, involving a total of about 24.2 kilometers of length and 8 new stations. After the second phase of Line 19 is completed, a rapid corridor connecting the city to the northwest to the central urban area can be built to promote the development of the northern and plain new city in the central urban area.

Also opened this year is the northern section of the R4 Line Phase I project, with a total length of about 21.3 kilometers and a total of 5 stations.
