CCTV News: According to the State Forestry and Grassland Administration, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration recently held a special meeting on the prevention and control of pinewood nematode disease, analyzing the trends in 2025, studying the application of scientific and technological research results, the construction of epidemic prevention and control supervision platforms, and arranging and deploying the epidemic prevention and control work in 2025.
Since 2020, the State Forestry and Grassland Administration has organized and implemented the "National Five-Year Action Plan for the Prevention and Control of Pinewood Nematode Disease (2021-2025)" (hereinafter referred to as the "Tough Action"), and completed the overall national control goal of the "14th Five-Year Plan" ahead of schedule. The "Revealing the List and Leadership" project has achieved significant results in monitoring and early warning, rapid testing, and drug research and development, and has played an important role.
After four years of hard work, the epidemic has shown a clear turning point, achieving "four declines" in county-level epidemic areas, township epidemic points, occurrence area and number of dead trees across the country. Overall, the tough campaign has achieved significant results, the serious harm and spread trend of the epidemic have been effectively controlled, but the base of occurrence is still large, the risk of local rebound is high, and there are still loopholes in epidemic monitoring and supervision.
In 2025, we will adhere to problem-oriented and goal-oriented approaches, strengthen prevention and control measures, and strive to consolidate the results of the key breakthroughs. First, strengthen the main responsibilities of local governments, make good use of the forest chief system, and implement regional joint prevention and control and departmental coordination. The second is to implement one policy for each province and one policy for each place, and take more targeted measures to strengthen precise prevention and control and targeted removal. The third is to coordinate the prevention and control of prevention and control areas and focus on key areas to adhere to the bottom line. Fourth, carry out quality improvement actions for eliminating and treating and special rectification actions for "protecting pine trees", increase the intensity of satellite remote sensing monitoring, optimize pine forest reform and training measures, and strengthen the application of the results of "posting the list and taking charge".
