After the Beijing Winter Olympics, Zhangjiakou City, Hebei Province actively utilized the Winter Olympics venues and injected strong impetus into the economic development of the post-Winter Olympics era through the continuous high-level snow events.
In the 2024-2025 season, 7 international and 11 national snow events were held in Zhangjiakou City, accounting for 39% and 48% of the total number of held nationally.
At present, Zhangjiakou City is forming its own exclusive features on the track of the ice and snow economy. The Zhangjiakou Chongli Sports Tourism Boutique Route, which is connected by the event, has been selected as a national-level recommended route for boutique tourism.
In 2024, Chongli District received a total of 8.538 million tourists, achieving a comprehensive tourism revenue of 9.55 billion yuan, an increase of 18% and 10% year-on-year respectively.
