During the Spring Festival holiday, I visited the temple fair in Beijing, and among the bustling crowds, I spoke in the accents of all over the place. I went up to chat and found that in addition to tourists, there were also many elderly people who came to Beijing from their hometowns to reunite with their children and felt a different festive atmosphere. During the Spring Festival travel rush, silver-haired "migratory birds" embarked on the road of travel and became a different scenery.

Reverse reunion is due to the continuous improvement of my country's infrastructure construction. Data from the Ministry of Transport shows that in 2024, my country's railway operating mileage exceeded 160,000 kilometers, of which more than 46,000 kilometers of high-speed railways; the new highway opening mileage was about 50,000 kilometers; there were 5 newly issued civil transport airports... The travel methods were more diverse and the comfort level was getting higher and higher.

Reverse reunion reflects the improvement of travel services and intelligence levels. During the Spring Festival travel rush, there was a dense flow of people and complicated railway trains and flights. In order to facilitate the travel of the elderly, relevant departments provided more refined travel services. For example, set signs in prominent locations at stations and airports; arrange special personnel to provide travel guidance and luggage transportation services; add temporary rest areas and hot water equipment, etc. Digital services provide more convenience. In the past, when the elderly went to strange cities and were unfamiliar with the environment, they might be at a loss. Nowadays, many elderly people can skillfully use intelligent equipment, and their needs for dining, travel, shopping are met.

Reverse reunion is a manifestation of the concept of family becoming more progressive. Reunion is the theme of the Spring Festival and the expectation of people who are wandering outside. The concentrated holidays and the sudden surge in traveling crowds have made air tickets and bus tickets returning home relatively in short supply. The elderly have relatively free time and can easily arrange their itineraries flexibly. From "returning home for the New Year" to "reverse reunion" is a choice. The family reunion has not diminished, and it has a bit more freshness. Children take the elderly to take a look and stroll in the city where they work hard, which not only makes the elderly more sympathetic about their children's difficulties, but also allows the elderly to appreciate different cultures and lives, which is of great benefit to the communication between the two generations.
