CCTV News: The reporter learned from the National Development and Reform Commission on February 4 that the latest statistical accounting results show that reducing logistics costs in the whole society has achieved positive results. In 2024, the ratio of total social logistics costs to GDP in my country dropped to the lowest in previous years.

The lower the ratio of total social logistics costs to GDP, the lower the logistics costs to create unit GDP. In 2024, the ratio of total social logistics expenses to GDP in my country was 14.1%, down 0.3 percentage points from the previous year, falling to the lowest level since the official establishment of statistics in 2006.

From the main logistics links, in 2024, the ratio of transportation costs to GDP decreased by 0.2 percentage points, and the ratio of management costs to GDP decreased by 0.1 percentage points.

Wu Junyang, deputy director of the Economic and Trade Department of the National Development and Reform Commission, introduced that according to the total GDP estimate in 2024, the ratio of total social logistics expenses to GDP decreased by 0.3 percentage points, which is equivalent to saving logistics expenses that year on the premise of supporting the rapid development of the national economy. This shows that the action to effectively reduce logistics costs in the whole society has been steadily promoted, the allocation of logistics resources in the whole society has been continuously optimized, and the service guarantee capacity for the real economy has been continuously enhanced. Relevant person in charge of the National Development and Reform Commission said that a series of measures will be taken to promote the continuous improvement of my country's logistics infrastructure network, the continuous improvement of operational efficiency, and the continuous decline in logistics costs in the whole society.

The latest data shows that as of the end of 2024, the total number of national logistics hubs in my country increased to 151, achieving basic coverage and effective radiation to cities with a regional GDP of more than 400 billion yuan. Logistics hubs related to industrial development and consumption account for nearly 50%.

At present, the entry rate of railways in coastal ports and major ports on the Yangtze River main line in the country has exceeded 90%. In 2024, the national port container rail-and-water transport volume increased by about 15% year-on-year. Multimodal transport is accelerating its development, and a modern logistics operation system of "channel + hub + network" is accelerating its formation.

Wu Junyang introduced that in the next step, the National Development and Reform Commission will work with relevant departments and localities to deepen the reform of the railway freight market, innovate multimodal transport service products, accelerate the implementation of railway freight network projects and inland water transport system connectivity projects, support regions with conditions to build international logistics hub centers and commodity resource allocation hubs, and promote the effective reduction of logistics costs in the whole society to achieve new and greater results.
