China Earthquake Network officially determined that at 7:42 on February 5, magnitude 5.0 earthquake occurred in Kuqa City (41.23 degrees north latitude, 83.74 degrees east longitude), with a depth of 10 kilometers.
The earthquake caused a clear local quake. The epicenter was 13 kilometers away from Tarim Township, 74 kilometers away from Luntai County, 80 kilometers away from Shaya County, 82 kilometers away from Kuqa City, 100 kilometers away from Xinhe County, 170 kilometers away from Baicheng County, and 176 kilometers away from Tiemenguan City.
After the earthquake, the earthquake advance team of the Kuqa City Brigade of the Fire Rescue Detachment of the Aksu Region has dispatched 4 vehicles and 20 people to the earthquake-stricken area to investigate the disaster situation. No relevant police reports or house collapse reports have been received.
