This morning (February 3) the torch relay ceremony of the 9th Asian Winter Games was launched in Harbin, Heilongjiang. Now, offline torch relay is in progress, and the torch "surging" is igniting the passion of the Ice City. So, what is the design concept of "Pengpai"?
The Harbin Asian Winter Games torch is named "Pengpai", which means that this event will be full of vitality and passion, and is closely integrated with the Asian Winter Games slogan "Ice and Snow Dream, Asia and One Heart".
The appearance design fully demonstrates Chinese modernization and cultural confidence. The lightweight functional materials team of Harbin Engineering University also supports the material design of the shell, ensuring the realization of the transparency of the torch shell, resistance to high and low temperature alternation, flame retardant technology and other requirements.
The overall shape uses blooming lilac flowers, combining Chinese red, lilac purple, ice and white colors, meaning the sincere, open and inclusive Heilongjiang and the ice and snow and humanistic characteristics of the host city of Harbin.
Harbin Asian Winter Club Torch Designer, Beijing University of Science and Technology Lecturer Zhang Junhai: We are a world of ice and snow, so the design of the shell adopts the transparent texture from the snow white at the bottom to the ice at the top. Moreover, we took into account the city lilac flower in Harbin and fully integrated it into the ring shape at the top. It is a blooming lilac flower, forming the form of a fire outlet.
