CCTV News: When traveling during the Spring Festival holiday, passengers who choose to take the plane may be able to see it through the window. Before each takeoff, staff will stand on the apron and wave goodbye to the plane. They are also called "worshipers" by netizens. They are actually "mechanical maintenance personnel". What kind of guarantees do they provide to passengers during the Spring Festival travel rush? Let’s learn about it together.
Before each plane slides into the runway and prepares to take off, two or three staff members in reflective clothes will be fixed in groups and waves unanimously. Many people think this is just saying goodbye to the plane and passengers. In fact, they are "maintenance maintenance personnel." The "goodbye" action is the last process before the plane leaves the port, which conveys to the crew the meaning of "the aircraft is ready and can slide out."

SUN Airlines Guangzhou aircraft route maintenance engineer Li Jiajun said: "For seemingly simple actions, we have to put in a lot of effort and learn a lot of professional knowledge."
Li Jiajun is the aircraft operator of China Southern Airlines C919 domestically produced large aircraft that was first put into the Spring Festival travel rush this year. General pre-aircraft inspections include flight control system inspections in the cockpit, appearance inspections such as fuselage, landing gear, hatch doors, power systems such as engines and fuel systems, as well as avionics, oxygen, lighting and other systems. From key parts and precision instruments to passengers who may fall into the apron and be sucked in by the engine, and the remnants of bird impacts, they all need to inspect and maintain them.

Li Jiajun said: "The operation is also called the 'aircraft doctor'. When a trace of a bird's feather is found, I may think of bird impact. If there is an abnormal vibration value, the engine's hole detector will assist the operation to ensure that the corpse of the bird impact does not enter the connotation channel. In addition to looking and touching, I will sometimes smell it. When I smell the smell of fuel, I will think of the leakage of the fuel components system, or the smell of lubricant oil, which may be a leakage of the lubricant pipeline, so that the next inspection work will be carried out in a targeted manner."
In fact, civil aviation passenger planes are guided by the aircraft personnel and pushed by the tractor vehicle to launch the apron. They usually wear a long-line headphone to contact the crew, which looks like they are "walking the plane", but in fact they are quite hard. When the planes line up for a long time, the flight crew has to wait in place.

According to statistics, in the five days from New Year's Eve to the fourth day of the New Year, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport had nearly 1.18 million passengers, with an average daily passenger flow of more than 230,000. During the Spring Festival holiday, the total passenger flow is expected to exceed 2 million. Faced with the intensive flights during the Spring Festival return trip, relevant departments have also made sufficient preparations.

Chen Zhenqiang, head of China Southern Airlines Engineering Technology's domestic fleet maintenance control, said: "Before the flight mission every day, we will power the aircraft three hours in advance. We have established some AOG (aircraft parking to be repaired) aircraft emergency repair teams, including formulating some more comprehensive support plans and support plans to allow the aircraft to operate in a better technical situation."
