The reporter learned today from the 2025 National Intellectual Property Office Directors' Meeting that in 2024, the effective amount of invention patents in my country reached 4.756 million, and the effective amount of invention patents in strategic emerging industries reached 1.349 million, an increase of 15.7% year-on-year. PCT International Patent, Madrid International Trademark, and The Hague System Appearance Design Applications are among the world's top.
At present, the average review cycle of invention patents in my country has been shortened to 15.5 months. The average review cycle for trademark registration is stable at 4 months, both reaching the fastest international level under the same review system. The application of multimodal large-model technology in patent examination has made substantial progress, and the quality and efficiency of intellectual property examination has continued to improve.
It is understood that my country's ranking in the "2024 Global Innovation Index Report" released by the World Intellectual Property Organization has risen to 11th, with 26 top 100 technology clusters in the world, ranking first among all countries for two consecutive years.
