Water is the source of life; wetland is the kidney of the earth.

Since the 18th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, China has implemented more than 3,400 wetland protection projects, and added and restored more than 800,000 hectares of wetlands. With 4% of the world's wetland area, China meets the needs of 1/5 of the world's population for production, life, ecology and culture.

China has continuously strengthened wetland protection and built more than 2,200 wetland-type nature reserves, with a national wetland area of 56.35 million hectares, including 82 international important wetlands, 58 national important wetlands, 903 national wetland parks, and 13 international wetland cities.

From hosting foreign aid training on wetland protection in developing countries, to extensive bilateral and multilateral wetland cooperation and exchanges, to launching the United Nations Development Program-Global Environment Fund project, strengthening management of about 300,000 hectares of important international wetlands and protecting wetlands, China shares experience with the world, seeks cooperation and promotes harmony.
