The Spring Festival of the Year of the Snake, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge continues to usher in the peak of cross-border travel. According to statistics from the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Border Inspection Station of Zhuhai Border Inspection Station, from January 28 (New Year's Eve) to January 31 (third day of the Chinese New Year), the inbound and outbound passenger flow through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge exceeded 454,000, and the traffic flow exceeded 69,000, an increase of 22% and 32% respectively over the same period last year's Spring Festival. Among them, on January 31, the inbound and outbound passenger flow through the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge reached 156,000, breaking the annual 150,000 mark for the first time, breaking the highest record since its opening.
During the Spring Festival of the Year of the Snake, a series of special activities such as intangible cultural heritage experience, the wenspring flower market, and the parade performance made the Guangdong region full of New Year atmosphere, attracting a large number of Hong Kong and Macao residents to "go north" to welcome the New Year. Relying on its regional advantages of convenient transportation, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge has become one of the preferred channels for Hong Kong and Macao residents to enter and exit the mainland during the Spring Festival. Since January 28, as of January 31, the number of Hong Kong and Macao residents entering and leaving the border inspection station of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge exceeded 280,000, accounting for more than 60% of the total passenger flow at the port. During this period, the total number of passengers in the port was nearly 250,000, and more than 42,000 vehicles were used.
The Zhuhai Highway Port of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge is the only designated port for "Hong Kong-Traff Going North" and "Ao Car Going North". During the Spring Festival, Hong Kong and Macao residents drove themselves to visit relatives and friends and had a strong demand for food, drink and entertainment, which promoted the continued increase in traffic flow at ports. Data shows that from January 28 to January 31, the border inspection station of the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge inspected more than 50,000 vehicles. Especially in terms of "Hong Kong and vehicles heading north", the average number of entry and exits per day reached 8,700 vehicles, an increase of more than 90% from before the festival, becoming the main factor driving the growth of port traffic during the Spring Festival. Among them, on the third day of the Chinese New Year on January 31, the number of "Hong Kong vehicles heading north" exceeded 11,000 vehicles in a single day, reaching a historical high.
