Since last year, the world of ice and snow has been crowded with people and has difficulty in finding a ticket, and ice and snow tourism is in a strong momentum; the 26th World of Ice and Snow has once again "upgraded", with a total area expanding to 1 million square meters, and the total amount of ice and snow has reached 300,000 cubic meters, both of which have been the highest in history, and after the opening of the park, it has become the "top stream".

Han Jiliang, director of Harbin Meteorological Service Center, knows the best about the "difficulty". The amount of ice and snow is so large, how to ensure the amount of ice collected? The temperature is low, how to arrange the construction progress? After experiencing a sudden recovery in the past year, how long is the right time to set this year's business period?

At 7 pm, as soon as you enter the Ice and Snow World Park, the first thing that catches your eye is the "feast" of the colorful ice lanterns, which makes many tourists say "satisfactory".

Since the ice mining period, the Harbin Meteorological Bureau has continued to provide a comprehensive "housekeeper-style" meteorological service to the ice and snow world.

"The ice layer can only be mined if it reaches 30 cm thick. So, starting from early November last year, we will provide weather forecasts every week," said Han Jiliang.

On November 19, the meteorological department predicted that there will be heavy cooling weather on November 26.

On November 26, the temperature in Harbin dropped below 0℃, and the construction of the Ice and Snow World officially started.

The precise monitoring of meteorological conditions in the park has also been updated this year.

In the center of the park, an automatic meteorological observation station covering an area of ​​only 20 square meters is very eye-catching. In addition to the six conventional monitoring elements, the station also customized three monitoring elements: snow temperature, visibility, and snow depth.

"On the one hand, the park construction personnel can obtain real-time temperature and ground temperature, and reasonably plan the construction period; on the other hand, while facilitating the safety management of the scenic spot, they can also let tourists understand information closely related to their physical feelings and arrange their visiting time." When talking about the role of the meteorological station, Tian Zhaoyun, deputy director of the Operation and Management Department of the Ice and Snow World, was amazed.

At 8 pm, the ice and snow world is brightly lit and crowded with tourists. "The weather forecast says it will snow tonight, so we specially chose to enter the park today to enjoy the snowy night view." The meteorological department has put a lot of thought into the safe operation of the Ferris wheel.

The existing meteorological station is only 10 meters high and can only monitor meteorological elements near the ground. It is difficult to accurately understand the weather conditions at the highest point of the Ferris wheel, that is, at an altitude of 120 meters, and supplement gradient information.

End, the meteorological department set its target on the car of the Ferris wheel. "We installed a four-element micro meteorological station above the No. 19 car to monitor the temperature, wind and other meteorological elements at high altitudes in real time to provide safety guarantees for their stable operation." At the same time, relevant information will be displayed in the Ferris wheel waiting hall in real time, providing reference for scenic spot management and tourists' riding.

At 9 pm, snowflakes fell from the sky. Ms. Chen from Anhui opened the weather forecast: "It's only minus ten degrees Celsius, not as cold as we imagined." "In fact, the temperature standard for meeting the closure requirement is not 0℃ as understood by the public." Han Jiliang explained that if the temperature is above -10℃ for a long time, the sunny surface of the ice and snow buildings will slowly melt and there is a risk of collapse. "This year, we will also conduct accurate monitoring of temperatures to provide decision-making support for meteorological conditions for the ice and snow world to determine the closing time."

According to statistics from the Harbin Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, the city received a total of 179 million tourists in 2024, and achieved a total tourism expenditure of 231.42 billion yuan.
