This behemoth in front of you is the dam of the Yebatan Hydropower Station under construction. It is nearly 3,000 meters above sea level. When the reporter arrived at the project, he was about to catch the night shift master to work. Their task was to build a 3-meter-high dam before three or four in the morning. In order to shoot the homework, the reporter had to follow the masters from the bottom of the dam to the top.

The dam has been built to more than 170 meters. The dam is getting taller and taller, and this temporary simple staircase for commuting is getting taller and longer.

The reason why it is so urgent is that the thermometer shows that the temperature of the dam today is several degrees lower than usual. If it is still dry at the speed of the previous two days, the concrete is likely to freeze, so it is necessary to seize the time.

But it is not easy to speed up the construction progress. At low temperatures, the concrete surface freezes very quickly, and it is very difficult for the worker to move every step in the concrete. In some places, several people must work hard together.

Low temperature not only affects the operating speed of dam watering, but how to keep the dam body as already watered is also a difficult problem. The masters applied thick yellow insulation paint to the dam, and the dam was likely to freeze and crack because the insulation layer was lost. In order to ensure the quality of the dam, the masters must monitor it at any time and re-spray it once the insulation paint falls off.

During the interview, the master saw that our equipment was also sprayed with paint, so he took out a small bottle of potion he had prepared from his pocket to clean it up.

Maybe it is because I rarely face the camera. Except for professional issues, the master seems a little nervous at other times, but as long as I talk about the dam, the master's expression is very smooth.

In the course of several days of interviews, we met many interviewees like this master. Although they were a little unspeakable in the face of the camera, since the first day of building the dam, they have been rooted in the deep mountains and silently working hard to water the highest altitude hyperbolic arch dam under construction in our country. It is precisely because of countless such ordinary workers that China has become a major water and electricity power power in the world today.
