CCTV news: On the morning of July 20, the State Council Information Office held a press conference. The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology introduced the development of industry and information technology in the first half of this year.Data show that in the first half of this year, the added value of industries above designated size increased by 5.4% year-on-year.

In the first half of 2026, my country's industry contributed more than 35% to economic growth, and the total profits of industrial enterprises above designated size in the first five months increased by 18.8% year-on-year.Industrial exports grew rapidly, with export volume increasing by 13.4% year-on-year.The digital industry has accelerated its development, with revenue in the first five months reaching 16.7 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 13%, and total profits increasing by 19.3% year-on-year.

Wang Weiming, Director of the Equipment Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, introduced that by cultivating and strengthening emerging industries and future industries, and carrying out actions to develop and strengthen emerging industrial industries to create new momentum, the added value of equipment manufacturing and high-tech manufacturing above designated size increased by 9.3% and 1.3% respectively year-on-year.13.3%, investment in emerging fields such as computer and office equipment manufacturing, aerospace vehicle and equipment manufacturing achieved double-digit growth. The relevant person in charge of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology said that the current external environment is complex and severe, and domestic supply and demand and structural contradictions are still prominent. Various reform measures and supporting policies have continued to exert force, and the fundamentals of stable and positive industrial economic development have not changed.

Data from the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology show that in the first half of this year, the scale of my country’s computing power continued to increase.(The scale of my country’s intelligent computing power reached 2185 exaflops (EFLOPS), a year-on-year increase of 177%.

The application penetration rate of artificial intelligence technology in manufacturing enterprises above designated size exceeds 30%, and the global cumulative downloads of large-scale artificial intelligence open source models exceeded 10 billion times. The output of industrial robots and service robots increased by 28% and 11.9% year-on-year respectively.
