News from CCTV: The State Administration of Taxation recently issued a notice to take multiple measures to promote the intelligent and convenient processing of departure tax refund services and further optimize departure tax refund services for overseas passengers.

Starting from September 1 this year, overseas tourists can choose any port of departure in a region that has achieved mutual recognition to handle tax refund after completing tax refund procedures at their shopping destination.

According to the requirements of the notice, in the future, tax refund stores can issue electronic tax refund applications and electronic invoices, and overseas passengers’ departure tax refunds can be processed paperlessly
