The General Administration of Customs released the foreign trade situation in the first half of the year on the 14th: In the first half of this year, my country's import and export of goods trade reached 25.47 trillion yuan, exceeding 25 trillion yuan for the first time in history, a year-on-year increase of 16.9%.Among them, exports were 14.73 trillion yuan, an increase of 13.4%, and imports were 10.74 trillion yuan, an increase of 22.1%.

From a trend perspective, import and export growth has continued to accelerate this year.In the second quarter, imports and exports were 13.61 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 18.4%, the highest year-on-year growth rate since the third quarter of 2021.Among them, import and export in June were 4.78 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 24.2%, maintaining growth for 17 consecutive months.

In the context of the global economy facing rising energy prices, intensifying inflationary pressure, and slowing economic growth, my country's foreign trade has grown strongly and has a steady trend, demonstrating the strong resilience of the Chinese economy and the surging vitality of Chinese industries.

The power of innovation bursts out.Recently, the four-legged robot independently developed and produced by Hangzhou Yunshen Technology Co., Ltd. completed customs clearance and was exported. It will be shipped to Switzerland's largest nuclear power plant to officially start work. This quadruped robot can not only climb 45° slopes, flexibly shuttle through gaps in equipment, and penetrate into areas that are difficult to reach manually, it can also accurately capture subtle hidden dangers such as leakage, abnormal temperature, and abnormal noise from equipment through its thermal imaging and acoustic sensors.According to Hangzhou Customs statistics, Zhejiang Province exported more than 400 million yuan of intelligent bionic robots in the first half of this year, accounting for about 60% of the country's exports.

The United Nations report shows that the growth of global trade in goods this year has been mainly concentrated in artificial intelligence-related fields. The rapid development of artificial intelligence in my country has promoted the export of related products in my country. In the first half of the year, my country's exports of electronic components, computer parts and other products all grew by double digits, driving a total export growth of 6.9 percentage points; the export of intelligent bionic robots deeply integrated with AI technology exceeded 10,000 units, reaching more than 90 countries and regions around the world.

Consolidation of diverse markets. On July 9, in a new energy vehicle production workshop in Shandong, new energy SUV vehicles equipped with all-terrain adaptation systems were rolled off the production line one after another and will soon be shipped to the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and other countries co-building the "Belt and Road" through Qingdao Port.Facing the complex and ever-changing external environment, foreign trade companies carry out customized research and development for different markets, proactively explore markets, and continuously improve the stickiness of different markets. In the first half of the year, my country's imports and exports to countries co-building the "Belt and Road" were 12.97 trillion yuan, an increase of 14.8%, accounting for 50.9% of the total foreign trade value.Imports and exports to neighboring countries were 9.44 trillion yuan, an increase of 20.6%.For Latin America and Africa, the growth rate was 16.2% and 19.6% respectively, and for the European Union, the growth rate was 10.2%.

Balanced development of import and export.African dried chili peppers, cashew nuts, Uruguayan pecans, Belgian apples, and Cambodian dried longans have obtained "access permits" for the Chinese market this year.More and more imported goods are enriching the dining tables of Chinese consumers, and China's large market has released more consumption dividends and cooperation space.Relying on the ultra-large-scale market, my country has expanded independent opening up and unilateral opening up in an orderly manner, providing a "window" for global goods to enter the Chinese market. In the first half of the year, my country's imports reached 10.74 trillion yuan, exceeding 10 trillion yuan for the first time in history, with an increase of 22.1%. The growth rate was 8.7 percentage points higher than exports. Imports from more than 150 countries and regions achieved growth. Imports contributed more to foreign trade growth than exports, promoting the balanced development of trade.

In the first half of the year, private enterprises maintained their status as my country’s largest foreign trade entity.Customs data shows that in the first half of this year, the number of private enterprises with import and export records exceeded 660,000, and the import and export of private enterprises was 14.53 trillion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 17%.The vast number of private enterprises proactively recognize changes and adapt flexibly to expand incremental markets and tap potential markets, creating a broad and resilient global trade network, with the "new" content of exports continuing to rise.

The current external environment is still complex and changeable, the global economic growth momentum is insufficient, and my country's foreign trade faces many risks and challenges. However, my country's innovation power, strong main body vitality, high level of openness, and the fundamentals of foreign trade remain solid. China's foreign trade will be able to weather the storms and move forward steadily.
