On the morning of June 8, General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and President Xi Jinping left Beijing on a special plane and paid a state visit to North Korea at the invitation of Kim Jong-un, General Secretary of the Workers’ Party of Korea and Chairman of the State Council of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea.
Accompanying the visit were: General Secretary Xi Jinping and wife of the President Peng Liyuan, Member of the Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Director of the General Office of the CPC Central Committee Cai Qi, Member of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee and Minister of Foreign Affairs Wang Yi, etc.
