CCTV News: China Federation of Logistics and Purchasing announced on May 3 the prosperity index of China’s logistics industry in May. In May, demand for logistics business increased steadily, and the logistics industry prosperity index returned to the expansion range.

In May, China's logistics industry prosperity index was 50.3%, an increase of 0.6 percentage points from the previous month, returning to the expansion range. Most of the sub-indices have rebounded from the previous month. Among them, the total business volume index, new orders index, fixed asset investment completion index, and employee index are all in the expansion range. Specifically, in May, the new orders index was 50.2%, rising for three consecutive months. Entering May, the upstream and downstream connections in the industrial chain and supply chain have become more coordinated, industrial logistics demand has shown an accelerated growth trend, and logistics demand in the people's livelihood field has maintained steady growth. Among them, logistics demand in industries such as new energy vehicle manufacturing, electronic component manufacturing, and transportation equipment manufacturing maintains a relatively high growth rate. Residential logistics demand for seasonal food, home appliances, sports and fitness, travel and outdoor activities has maintained steady growth. In terms of regions, the total logistics business volume index in the eastern, central and western regions all rebounded from the previous month.

Liu Yuhang, director of the China Logistics Information Center, said that in May, China's logistics industry prosperity index returned to the expansion range, which is a direct reflection of China's economic resilience and vitality. With the implementation of policies to stabilize growth and improvement in consumption, demand from the upstream and downstream of the supply chain has been steadily released, and the activity of transportation, warehousing and other links has increased significantly. This also reflects the coordinated improvement of supply and demand and the acceleration of the circulation efficiency of the real economy.
