Wang Liping introduced that China and South Asian countries have always had close economic and trade cooperation and huge cooperation potential. Especially in the context of the current international and regional situation, which is turbulent and full of uncertainties, cooperation between China and South Asia is particularly important. The value of cooperation between Chinese enterprises and South Asian countries has also been further highlighted. The Ministry of Commerce will provide good services for enterprises to develop in the South Asian market from the following aspects.
In terms of strengthening institutional guarantees, many mechanisms have been established with 8 countries in South Asia, including 7 bilateral economic and trade joint committee mechanisms, 5 investment protection and double taxation avoidance agreements, 4 trade unimpeded investment cooperation and e-commerce cooperation mechanisms, and bilateral free trade agreements with 2 countries. In the next step, we will work with South Asian countries to provide policy interpretation and service guidance for enterprises, so that more enterprises can benefit from relevant bilateral mechanism agreements.
In terms of serving enterprises and policy guidance, we will continue to improve public service products such as country guides for foreign cooperation, publish relevant business guides in a timely manner, and give full play to the unique roles of the Economic and Commercial Offices of Chinese embassies abroad and the Chinese Enterprises Chamber of Commerce to provide services and guidance to enterprises, help enterprises safeguard their legitimate rights and interests, and strengthen contact and cooperation with economic and trade institutions in South Asian countries. At the same time, we will organize relevant Chinese companies to go to South Asia to promote trade and investment, helping companies from both sides to efficiently realize resource complementation and supply-demand docking.
In terms of guiding the fulfillment of social responsibilities, we will further guide the vast number of Chinese enterprises to put the fulfillment of social responsibilities in a prominent position in the process of exploring the South Asian market, operating one side and benefiting the other. In fact, many Chinese companies have donated funds to build schools and classrooms, carried out disaster relief, and provided talent training in South Asian countries.
Wang Liping said that in the next step, we will strengthen docking with South Asian countries, better guide enterprises to accurately meet demand, implement more "small but beautiful" projects that benefit people's livelihood and warm people's hearts, and develop together with the local economy and society. With concrete actions, local people will receive more benefits, and we will continue to consolidate economic and trade cooperation between China and South Asian countries.
