China's Bohai 100-million-ton oilfield is fully operational
2026-05-28 source:Xinhuanet

Xinhua News Agency, Beijing, May 27 (Reporters Wang Yueyang and Sister Liang) CNOOC announced on May 27 that the Kenli 10-2 oilfield group development project (Phase I), the largest offshore shallow lithologic oil field in my country, was fully put into production. The Kenli 10-2 oil field is located in the southern waters of the Bohai Sea. The proven geological reserves of crude oil in the oil field exceed 100 million tons, and the daily crude oil production exceeds 2,800 tons.

The Kenli 10-2 oil field is the first 100-million-ton lithological oil field discovered in the shallow depth of the sag zone in the Bohai Bay Basin. The main production facilities of the first-phase development project include the construction of a new central processing platform and two unmanned wellhead platforms, with a total of 79 development wells implemented.

Kenli 10-2 Oilfield is also the first dendritic heavy oil reservoir developed offshore in my country. The CNOOC technical team has explored and formed a complex heavy oil reservoir development technology system to effectively solve problems such as scattered reserves distribution, complex geological conditions, and large crude oil viscosity spans, and make every effort to ensure efficient and balanced utilization of reserves.
