On the evening of May 24, Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan arrived in Beijing and continued his visit to China. Previously, Shahbaz had visited Zhejiang Province.

At the invitation of Premier Li Qiang of the State Council, Shahbaz paid an official visit to China from May 23 to 26. During the visit, President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang will meet and hold talks with Prime Minister Shahbaz respectively. The leaders of the two countries will have an in-depth exchange of views on bilateral relations and issues of common concern, and chart the course for the development of China-Pakistan relations under the new situation. Prime Minister Shahbaz will also attend the reception celebrating the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Pakistan.
The spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs recently stated that Prime Minister Shahbaz’s official visit to China is an important high-level exchange between China and Pakistan on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. China hopes that both sides will take this visit as an opportunity to continue traditional friendship, deepen all-round cooperation, and jointly write a new chapter in building a closer China-Pakistan community with a shared future in the new era.
