The reporter learned from Guangzhou Port Group that on May 22, the fourth phase terminal of Guangzhou Port Nansha Port, the new berths of the grain general terminal expansion project and the offshore terminal successfully passed the acceptance of opening to the outside world. After the three projects are opened to the outside world, Guangzhou Port will add 4.7 kilometers of foreign trade coastline, a foreign trade container throughput capacity of 4.9 million TEUs, a foreign trade breakbulk throughput capacity of 12.92 million tons, and a foreign trade commodity vehicle throughput capacity of 200,000 vehicles. This will further release the foreign trade operation capacity of Nansha Port Area of Guangzhou Port and promote the international shipping and logistics hub function of Guangzhou Port to achieve a new leap forward.

In recent years, Guangzhou Port Group's foreign trade business has continued to grow. In 2025, foreign trade cargo throughput will increase by 23% year-on-year, and foreign trade container throughput will increase by 19.7% year-on-year. For the first time, foreign trade container volume has successfully exceeded domestic trade container volume. After this acceptance, with the support of various port units, Guangzhou Port will actively promote the implementation of foreign trade business at relevant terminals and further consolidate the status of Guangzhou Port as an international container hub port, grain transit hub port, and ro-ro vehicle hub port.
