Currently, China has become the country with the largest and fastest underground pipeline network construction in the world. This "invisible and intangible" underground pipe network silently supports the life we take for granted. Use a set of numbers to approach this hidden and vast network.

From washing up in the morning, drinking tea in the afternoon, to washing away the fatigue at night, every day, 1.199 million kilometers of water supply pipelines silently transport millions of tons of domestic water; within invisible walls, 1.04 million kilometers of gas pipeline networks are quietly delivering natural gas to gas stoves and water heaters, making a hot meal and a hot bath within reach.

In the cold winter of January, behind the comfortable room temperature of 20 degrees Celsius, there is a 546,200-kilometer thermal pipe network circulating day and night.

During the rainy season in June, the water on the roads receded quickly, thanks to the 993,600 kilometers of drainage pipe network, which silently protects the city from "waterlogging".

From water supply, drainage, gas to heat, this urban underground pipe network with a total scale of more than 3.78 million kilometers is still accelerating expansion. During the "15th Five-Year Plan" period, investment in my country's urban underground pipe networks will further increase, with new investment needs of approximately 5 trillion yuan.

Updates of old pipe networks are accelerating, and smart monitoring systems are gradually being rolled out. Underground in cities, a safer, smarter, and more resilient invisible network is accelerating to build the lifeline of the city.
