Among them, exports were 9.33 trillion yuan, an increase of 11.3%; imports were 6.9 trillion yuan, an increase of 20%.

This year marks the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Africa, and the scale of China-Africa economic and trade cooperation has steadily expanded.

Customs statistics show that in the first four months of this year, my country's imports and exports to African countries were 885.34 billion yuan, an increase of 19.4%, exceeding 800 billion yuan for the first time in history.

Director of the Statistical Analysis Department, General Administration of Customs Lu Daliang: In the first four months of this year, my country's imports from Africa increased by 11.2% year-on-year, and have maintained year-on-year growth for eight consecutive months. Starting from May 1, my country will fully implement zero-tariff measures with 53 African countries that have diplomatic relations with them. So far, African products such as apples, oranges, and avocados have been declared for import under zero tariffs. my country provides Africa with development and new development opportunities through its ultra-large-scale market to better benefit the people of China and Africa.

Yiwu’s foreign trade import and export growth rate is faster than that of the country as a whole

Judging from the latest data released by the General Administration of Customs, since this year, my country’s eastern, central and western regions, and northeastern regions have given full play to their respective location characteristics and industrial advantages, and the coverage and activity of foreign trade development have continued to increase. Among them, major foreign trade provinces and strong foreign trade cities play a prominent role.

Customs statistics show that in the first four months of this year, Yiwu’s import and export volume was 272.23 billion yuan, an increase of 17.7%.

Relying on the advantages of my country's industrial system and leveraging new business formats such as market procurement, Yiwu continues to write new chapters for small commodities and large markets.
