Q: The company where the "Taiwan independence" die-hard Liu Shifang's nephew Yan Wenqun works issued a statement yesterday severing Yan Wenqun from all positions in the Taiwan head office and the mainland branch. What is the spokesperson's comment on this?
Answer: "Taiwan independence" undermines peace and stability across the Taiwan Strait and harms the interests of compatriots on both sides of the Taiwan Strait. It is a dead end. Those who engage in "Taiwan independence" harm others and themselves, and must be punished. We will never allow "Taiwan independence" diehards and their relatives to invest and do business in the mainland for profit, and we will never allow those who support "Taiwan independence" and undermine cross-Strait relations to make money on the mainland while supporting "Taiwan independence" separatist activities. Our measures to punish "independence" only target a very small number of "Taiwan independence" elements and do not involve the vast number of Taiwan compatriots and Taiwanese companies. We will, as always, welcome and support the vast number of Taiwanese compatriots and Taiwanese companies to take root in the development of the motherland, share the opportunities and achievements of Chinese-style modernization development, and give Taiwanese compatriots and Taiwanese companies a greater sense of happiness and gain.
