On April 25, President Xi Jinping and President Neves of Cape Verde exchanged congratulatory messages to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries.

Xi Jinping pointed out that China and Cape Verde have traditional friendship and the friendship between the two countries will last forever. For half a century, the two sides have understood and supported each other on issues involving each other's core interests and major concerns, carried out fruitful cooperation in the fields of development and people's livelihood, and set an example of mutual respect and friendly cooperation between large and small countries. I attach great importance to the development of Sino-Venetian relations and am willing to work with President Neves to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to continue traditional friendship, deepen pragmatic cooperation, strengthen multilateral cooperation, continuously enrich the connotation of China-Vendorah strategic partnership, and better benefit the two peoples.

Neves said that Cape Verde highly appreciates the friendly cooperation between the two countries for half a century and thanks China for its valuable contribution to the sustainable development of Cape Verde. Buddhism is willing to continue to work with China to take the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the two countries as an opportunity to consolidate political mutual trust, deepen mutually beneficial cooperation, and continuously benefit the two peoples.
