CCTV news: According to the website of the Ministry of Commerce, on April 25, the spokesperson of the Ministry of Commerce answered reporters’ questions about Chinese companies listed in the EU’s 20th round of sanctions against Russia.

Q: On April 23, the EU announced that it would list Chinese companies in the 20th round of sanctions against Russia. What is China’s comment on this?

A: The EU ignored China’s repeated representations and objections and unscrupulously listed Chinese companies in the 20th round of sanctions against Russia. China is strongly dissatisfied and firmly opposed to this.

China has reiterated many times that it firmly opposes unilateral sanctions without authorization from the United Nations Security Council and the EU’s so-called long-arm jurisdiction over Chinese companies and individuals. The EU's move runs counter to the spirit of the consensus reached by the leaders of China and Europe, and seriously undermines mutual trust between China and the EU and the overall situation of bilateral relations. China urges the EU to immediately remove Chinese companies and individuals from the sanctions list, abide by the spirit of the consensus reached by leaders of both sides, and find solutions to their respective concerns through dialogue and consultation. China will take necessary measures to resolutely safeguard the legitimate rights and interests of Chinese companies, and all consequences will be borne by the European side.
