Ministry of Foreign Affairs: China’s rare earth export control measures are in line with international practice

On October 16, Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Lin Jian hosted a regular press conference. A reporter asked questions about U.S. Treasury Secretary Bessent’s remarks on China’s introduction of rare earth export control measures.

Lin Jian said that China’s competent authorities have repeatedly elaborated on the relevant positions on rare earth export control policies. The export control measures introduced by China are in line with common international practices and aim to better safeguard world peace and regional stability and fulfill international obligations such as non-proliferation.
