The US openly speculates the fallacy of "Taiwan's status is not determined" and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs issues three consecutive "stops"

On September 17, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Lin Jian presided over a regular press conference. In response to the US's distortion of the interpretation of the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation, spokesman Lin Jian said that he had answered relevant questions before, and Taiwan's return to China is an important part of the victory of World War II and the post-war international order.

In 1943, the Chinese, American and British governments issued the Cairo Declaration, which clearly stipulated that Taiwan stolen by Japan would be returned to China. In 1945, China, the United States, Britain and the Soviet Union issued the Potsdam Declaration, reiterating that "the conditions for the Cairo Declaration will surely be implemented." In the same year, Japan signed the "Japan Surrender" and promised to "loyally fulfill the obligations of the Potsdam Proclamation" and this series of documents with international legal effect clearly confirmed China's sovereignty over Taiwan.

Taiwan is Taiwan of China. As the signatories of the Cairo Declaration and the Potsdam Proclamation, the United States is clear about the historical and legal facts of Taiwan belonging to China, but openly speculates the fallacy of the so-called "Taiwan status is undetermined", smears and slanders China's legitimate actions to defend national sovereignty and territorial integrity, maliciously mislead international public opinion, seriously violates international law and basic norms of international relations, and sends serious wrong signals to the separatist forces of "Taiwan independence".

History cannot be tampered with. The one-China principle is a general consensus of the international community. The unilateral distortion of the United States cannot shake the international community's pattern of adhering to the one-China principle. China urges the US to truly abide by the one-China principle and the three Sino-US joint communiqués, stop manipulating Taiwan-related issues, stop condoning and supporting "Taiwan independence" in any form, and stop interfering in China's internal affairs. No one or any force can stop the historical trend of China's reunification and will surely be unified.
