China Radio International Beijing (Reporter Huang Angjin) On August 26, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology released the economic operation of the communications industry in the first seven months of 2025. Data shows that in the first seven months of this year, my country's telecommunications business revenue reached 1043.1 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 0.7%. The total volume of telecommunications services calculated based on the constant price last year increased by 8.9% year-on-year.

In terms of telecom users, the scale of gigabit users continues to expand. As of the end of July, the total number of fixed Internet broadband access users of the three basic telecommunications companies reached 686 million, a net increase of 15.79 million from the end of last year. Among them, there were 652 million fixed Internet broadband access users with access rates of 100Mbps and above, accounting for 95.2% of the total number of users; there were 228 million fixed Internet broadband access users with access rates of 1000Mbps and above, a net increase of 21.49 million from the end of last year, accounting for 33.3% of the total number of users, accounting for 2.4 percentage points higher than the end of last year.

The number of 5G users is increasing rapidly. As of the end of July, the total number of mobile phone users of the three basic telecommunications companies and China Radio and Television reached 1.815 billion, a net increase of 25.08 million from the end of last year. Among them, 5G mobile phone users reached 1.137 billion, a net increase of 123 million from the end of last year, accounting for 62.7% of mobile phone users.

The number of mobile Internet of Things terminal users has increased rapidly, while Internet TV (IPTV, OTT) has increased steadily. As of the end of July, the three basic telecommunications companies developed 2.835 billion mobile Internet of Things terminal users, a net increase of 179 million from the end of last year. The number of Internet TV (IPTV, OTT) users reached 411 million, a net increase of 3.873 million from the end of last year.

Mobile Internet traffic maintained rapid growth, and the DOU value in July was at a high level. In the first seven months, the cumulative traffic of the mobile Internet reached 220 billion GB, an increase of 16.3% year-on-year. As of the end of July, the number of mobile Internet users reached 1.596 billion, a net increase of 26.32 million from the end of last year. In July, the average mobile Internet access traffic (DOU) of households reached 20.91GB/account monthly, an increase of 12.9% year-on-year, 1.21GB/account monthly higher than the end of the previous year.

In terms of communication capabilities, the construction of gigabit fiber broadband networks is continuing to advance. As of the end of July, the number of Internet broadband access ports nationwide reached 1.24 billion, a net increase of 33.86 million from the end of last year. Among them, the number of fiber optic access (FTTH/O) ports reached 1.19 billion, a net increase of 34.7 million from the end of last year, accounting for 96.7% of the Internet broadband access ports. As of the end of July, the number of 10G PON ports with gigabit network service capabilities reached 30.53 million, a net increase of 2.328 million from the end of last year.

The construction of 5G network is progressing steadily. As of the end of July, the total number of 5G base stations reached 4.598 million, a net increase of 348,000 from the end of last year, accounting for 36% of the total number of mobile base stations, an increase of 0.3 percentage points over the first half of the year.
