CCTV News: The reporter learned from the China Iron and Steel Industry Association that the total profit of the steel industry increased by 63.26% year-on-year in the first half of this year, and the overall operation of the industry was better than expected.

In the first half of the year, the national crude steel production was 515 million tons, a year-on-year decrease of 3.0%, in line with the expectations and requirements of the national industrial regulation policy; the Iron and Steel Association focused on counting the total profit of steel enterprises was 59.2 billion yuan, a year-on-year increase of 63.26%. Zhao Minge, president of the China Iron and Steel Industry Association, said that thanks to the effective production control measures taken by the country to achieve dynamic supply and demand balance, the crude steel output of 20 steel enterprises with more than 10 million tons decreased by 3.7% year-on-year, maintaining the low steel inventory, basic supply and demand balance, and relatively stable steel prices. At the same time, the demand for raw fuel has decreased and the center of cost has shifted down.
